LEITH ALEXANDER
Hey I’m Leith, an artist who loves lots of different kinds of art, but especially photography, podcasts & film. I’m based in Walyalup (Fremantle) but I come from a farm near a town called Gnarojin (Narrogin), in WA's Wheatbelt region.
I find myself on the road a lot, exploring the cultures and ideas that can be found all over this big island.
I worked with Big hART for two and a half years, living in Roebourne in WA's Pilbara and then Tasmania's north-west, as a Youth Arts Mentor.
I also work with Awesome Arts Australia, and they love to send me to remote places such as the East Pilbara and Goldfields to do media workshops in schools.
I love to collaborate with friends
And then of course, some of my personal projects have taken me back to my hometown and all over WA's sheep country.
I am drawn to the road a lot; whether I'm youth and art mentoring in regional and remote schools, working and collaborating on art projects seems to send me on the road a fair bit, mentoring and youth work in regional schools, and other art projects.
